For years, I've planned to build a content management system. I got pretty far along with it, and even used it for my wedding site site. But it's a painfully complicated thing, especially for someone who doesn't like working on GUIs.  It was nonetheless a useful exercise.  I learned a lot from building it, but I did get bogged down in all sorts of irrelevant architecture astrology.  This is what happens when you have too little time to actually build something, and only a vague notion of what you really want.

Anyway, this is now much easier with a turnkey solution like Movable Type, so I don't feel the need to build such a thing anymore. And look! I now have content for all the world to see! And I don't even need to debug the system whenever I want to upload a picture or add users!
